This policy covers credit packs and subscription purchases made in IELTS Writing Checker ("the App"). All purchases are for digital goods (assessment credits) delivered immediately on purchase.
Because credits are digital goods usable right away, purchases are generally non-refundable once credits have been used (i.e., spent on an essay assessment). Unused credits from a purchase made in error, or a purchase you no longer want, may be refunded if you contact us within 14 days of the purchase.
If you bought credits or a subscription through Google Play Billing on Android, refunds are handled by Google under Google Play's own refund policy. Request a refund directly through Google Play within their standard refund window; we're notified automatically once Google processes it, and the corresponding credits are removed from your account.
If you bought credits or a subscription through Paddle (our Merchant of Record for web/other platforms), Paddle handles the transaction and can process refunds directly. You can request a refund via the receipt email Paddle sends you, or by contacting us at the address below and we'll coordinate with Paddle on your behalf.
You can cancel a subscription at any time through whichever store/processor you subscribed with (Google Play or Paddle) — cancellation stops future renewals, but we don't provide a partial refund for the remaining days of an already-paid billing period, except where required by law or store policy.
If a technical error on our side causes a credit to be consumed without you receiving a valid assessment result (for example, the assessment failed partway through but your credit balance was still charged), contact us with the essay/date involved and we will reinstate the credit or issue a refund — this is our error to fix, not something you should be out of pocket for.
We may update this policy as the App evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
