This page explains how to request deletion of your IELTS Writing Checker account and the personal data associated with it.
How to request account deletion:
Send an email to aielts.writing@outlook.com from the email address (or including the phone number) associated with your account.
Use the subject line "Account deletion request".
We will confirm your identity and process the deletion within 30 days of receiving your request.
What gets deleted
Once your deletion request is processed, the following are permanently deleted:
Your account (email/phone, or linked Google account information)
All essays you submitted and their text
All assessment results, band scores, and feedback tied to your account
Your error/mistake history used for personalised analytics
What may be retained, and why
A small amount of information may be kept for a limited period even after account deletion, where we have a legitimate legal or accounting need to do so:
Purchase and billing records: kept as required for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes. These records are disconnected from your deleted profile and are not used for any other purpose.
Anonymised, aggregate usage statistics that no longer identify you personally may be retained to help us understand overall app usage.
No essay content, feedback, or personally identifying account information is retained after deletion beyond what is described above.
Deleting only some of your data
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove data. Within the app, you can already delete any individual essay that hasn't been assessed yet, directly from your Essay History. If you'd like other specific data removed without closing your account entirely — for example, your error/analytics history — contact us at aielts.writing@outlook.com and we'll process a partial deletion instead.
